45 artists exhibited in the nofound_photofair from the 11st to the 14th of November 2011 at Garage Turenne, in the heart of the Marais in Paris. nofound_photofair team and its partners would like to thank all the visitors and exhibitors which put their trust in this first edition. Over four days, nofound_photofair attracted roughly 10 000 visitors, including 2 500 the evening of the private view. “This fair offers an insight into photographic practices rarely found in conventional circuits. This is a reactive platform which creates a good place to broadcast modes outside the conventional market, such as print editions and internet publication” in Artnet, 15th November 2011, by Joël Riff “To summarise [...] a promising photo fair” in Lunettes Rouges (Le Monde), 14th November 2011 “nofound_photofair [...] widens the angle with forty or so ‘out of the ordinary’ projects” in Le Quotidien de l’Art, 10th November 2011, by Alexandre Crochet “nofound_photofair, sharp” in Télérama Sortir, 9th to 15th November “nofound_photofair which, according to a [...] survey among the specialists, appears in a very favorable light” in Libération, 10th November 2011
In total 30 private galleries, 10 editors, 2 private collectors and project booths by public organizations took the challenge proposed by the organisers to highlight the link between photography and contemporary art and to create a dialogue between emerging artists. Thirteen of the projects were by foreigners : Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Canada, United States of America, Italy, Norway, Holland, United Kingdomand Sweden. The partnership with the British organization Photo-Festivals to create thenofound_photoreviews (portfolio reviews) and the nofound_phototalks (a series of events and public conferences in collaboration with Institute Artist Management, New York) was a big success : more than 50 photographers and artists from all over Europe and numerous photo enthusiasts were able to meet 28 international experts of contemporary photography. Also, the participation of Duplex/10m² Galerjia from Sarajevo, with the support of Reporters without Borders, and the successful spin-offs from the fair (exhibition projects planned for 2012) clearly show the advantage of such collaborations.
An extremely encouraging information : sales (from 250€ to 15000€), contacts, commitments for future productions of artistic works, exhibition projects, and institutional acquisitions.
