MOO, Photo-Festivals' sponsor during the Collectives Encounter at Format09 was running a competition for the most promising portfolio reviewed during the sessions organised by the festival on 7th March 2009.
The reviewers Yasmina Reggad (Photo-Festivals' Director) and Cia de Foto (special guest photo collective from Brazil) are thrilled to unveil the winner of this prize:
Diarmait was born in Dublin in 1983. He studied photography in the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, graduating with a B.A. (hons) in 2008. His work has been shown in several exhibitions in both Ireland and the U.K. and has received mention in publications including The Irish Times and Circa art magazine.
His essay "Personal Myths" can be seen until 5th April in Derby Museum and Art Gallery as part of the Exposure programme of exhibitions of Format09.
