Photo-Festivals was thrilled to launch its residency program Crossing Point with Colombian artist Juan Pablo Echeverri, who we invited to the last edition of Les Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie d’Arles (France), from 7th to 12th July 2008.
Juan Pablo undertook an intensive six-day residency in Arles, during which he shared a house with other photographers and made contact with numerous renowned practitioners in the field of contemporary photography.

The artist is producing a unique artwork with the material collected during his short immersion in this major European festival dedicated to photography.
Born in Colombia in 1978, Juan Pablo Echeverri studied Visual Art in Bogota.
Now a photographer and filmmaker, Juan specialises in self-portraits.
He has accumulated eight years’ worth of portraits of his ever-changing appearance, documented by having his photo taken at a photo-booth every day.
His work strongly explores the themes of identity and gender in the public and private realm, and the way in which individual identity develops over time.
In Europe, his work has been recently exhibited at The Photographers’ Gallery (London), Site Gallery (Sheffield) and Impressions Gallery (Bradford), K3 Project Space (Zurich), Círculo de Bellas Artes (Madrid).
