guest curator at Paraty em Foco 2011

I was a member of the curatorial board of Paraty Em Foco International Photo Festival this year. I am invited again this year to attend the festival in Brazil and contribute with a workshop entitled ‘Curating as a Creative Act’ (22nd September).

I have also been commissioned a projection and I decided to share a bit of my ongoing curatorial research about performed photography focusing on UK-based artists. ‘The Trace of an Act‘ will be projected on Saturday 24th September during a night of projections featuring the following talented artists:

Natasha Caruana: The Married Man

Paraty Em Foco International Photo Festival also organises portfolio reviews; together with Alexandre BELÉM, Carlos CARVALHO, Claudi CARRERAS, Eder CHIODETTO, Heloisa Amaral Peixoto, Geórgia QUINTAS, Isabel AMADO, Mariano KLAUTAU, Marta NIN we will review portfolios of 10 selected photographers.

It sounds like I will have a busy festival.
